My client previously was at the Bank of Korea and was seeking a change. He came to me through my contacts at the Bank of Korea and I was happy to have the chance to work with him.

He was well-prepared in terms of his CV/resume and background; however, the weak point I saw was he didn’t have a compelling story to tie everything together. He also needed to have a list of accomplishments ready to use as examples of his abilities.

He was incredibly dedicated and took in everything and applied what he learned. We only  had 3 days and 4 hours of actual coaching time before he was to go to Sri Lanka for the interview.

He had the interview to prepare for as well as a presentation. Actually, we didn’t know how long he would have to present for, so we prepared for 15 minutes and I showed him a  way to shorten or lengthen the presentation on-the-fly.

Fortunately, he was very professional and committed to getting what he wanted. He had stiff competition, as one of the other candidates was previously an executive with the IMF.

And that’s what’s so great about this news… My client stayed focused, knew what he wanted, and made the changes necessary to be successful. Awesome.
